Meet Our Pastor: David Seung-Heung Yang

"It's our great pleasure to introduce to you our new Pastor. He prefers to call him "Pastor  David".Pastor David lives in Fremont CA with his wife, Rev. Youngmi Jung, pastor at Fremont First UMC, and their teenage daughter. He is a graduate of the Pacific School of Religion, earning his Masters of Divinity in 2016. He has served as Pastor for Grace San Ramon UMC since 2021. Pastor David has a passion for homeless ministries and has served the homeless in San Jose at the Street Church since 2018. He has also raised money for Imagine No Malaria and volunteered with Habitat for Humanity and Loaves & Fishes in Berkeley. He has owned his own business and plays the drums! Pastor David is very excited about joining SCUMC and looks forward to meeting all of you soon."

On Martin Luther King, Jr Sunday, Pastor David Yang talked about remembering his legacy in his message entitled "Not Lacking". He says diversity is not a threat but a gift.
Pastor David's message for the New Year is entitled "When Mystery Became Flesh". He reminds us that we are all children of God, beloved and blessed by God.
Pastor David's message from December 14, 2025 tells us that Advent is about believing that the world can be healed. We must have the courage and compassion to love one another and stand up for those who are marginalized or oppressed.
